We the People...

One of the most festive traditions of the year is back in 7th grade! Each spring, our hallways ring with the sounds of students enthusiastically learning the words to the Preamble of the Constitution through the classic Schoolhouse Rock! “Preamble” song. Classes spend the week memorizing the lyrics, practicing their performances, and competing for ultimate bragging rights — and, of course, ice cream for the winning class!

One of the best parts of this annual tradition is watching former 7th graders hear the music and come running to join in. Our 8th graders — and even high school students — still remember every word and proudly sing along as they pass by. Thanks to Mrs. Scoones for this fun, joyful tradition that brings generations of CCS students together and turns a piece of civics learning into a middle school memory students never forget.
