Student Production of Grease Draws More Than 2,000 Attendees

This past weekend, students presented a successful production of Grease, performing for a total audience of 2,028 people. The production featured a cast of 63 students who brought the beloved musical to life on stage, under the direction of Mrs. Wratten.

Four students played in the Orchestra pit of only 8 people under the direction of Mr. Lavender.

Behind the scenes, an additional 24 students made the production possible as members of the backstage crew. These students managed lighting controls and spotlights, operated the sound console, assisted actors with microphones and costume changes, organized and handled props and costumes, operated stage rigging, and coordinated numerous scene changes throughout the performance, under the direction of Mr. DeStefanis and Mr. China.

Student involvement extended beyond the stage and backstage areas. Approximately 20 middle school and high school students served as ushers, welcoming guests at the doors, checking tickets, distributing programs, and helping audience members find their seats.

Students from Mrs. Pape’s Art Seminar classes also contributed to the production by painting all of the stage sets. In addition, around 20 students from Mr. O’Rourke’s Design, Manufacturing, and Construction classes built the sets used throughout the show.

The production showcased the talents and teamwork of students across multiple disciplines, demonstrating the strong collaboration between performing arts, visual arts, and technical education programs within the school community.
