On Wednesday, December 12th, the OHM BOCES Food Service Department visited Clinton Elementary School to hold a 'Mystery Box' activity with Kindergarten classes, and a lunchtime 'Veg-ucation' session for all elementary students!
During the 'Mystery Box' activity, students were able to reach into a covered box to try and identify a piece of produce by only using their sense of touch and descriptive words. Some students were even able to correctly identify the dragon fruit!
At lunchtime, all elementary students learned about the CSA box program their cafeteria has been a part of this fall. Students gave feedback on the popularity of this year's new menu items, and they got to sample fresh tzatziki utilizing local produce from Common Thread CSA!
