Message from the Superintendent
Dear CCS Families, Staff, and Community Members,
Throughout the past several weeks, a series of social media posts have targeted our school district, our educators, and individual staff members with deeply hurtful and inaccurate accusations. These posts and associated comments use inflammatory language and make false claims that do not reflect who we are as a school community.
Let me say this clearly and with conviction:
Our educators are not groomers, indoctrinators, pedophiles, or predators. They are caring, dedicated professionals who have devoted their lives to helping children learn, grow, and feel seen, heard, and safe. These individuals show up every day to teach, mentor, and support our students — often going far beyond the call of duty out of genuine love for their work and care for our students.
The values we uphold in Clinton — kindness, respect, inclusion, and academic excellence — guide everything we do. We are proud of our classrooms, our curriculum, and the people who bring learning to life for our students. We are also proud of the trust families place in us, and we never take that responsibility lightly.
We know that not everyone will always agree with every decision, and we welcome thoughtful, respectful conversations about how to best serve our students. Spreading misinformation, name-calling, and personal attacks have no place in the kind of community we strive to be — for our children’s sake and each other’s.
To the families, students, and staff members who may feel hurt or disheartened by the recent rhetoric, please know this: You are valued. You are supported. And you are not alone.
Thank you to everyone who continues to stand with our schools, support our educators, and speak up for kindness, understanding, and truth. Together, we will continue to build a school environment where all students can thrive.
With appreciation and respect,
Christopher M. Clancy
Superintendent of Schools
