Matthew Reilly Appointed as Interim Middle School Principal
On August 13, 2024, the Clinton Central School District Board of Education appointed Mr. Matthew
Reilly as interim principal of Clinton Middle School, effective August 20, 2024. Reilly brings with him
more than three decades of experience as a teacher, principal and superintendent, including several
positions that he has held within the Clinton Central School District.
Reilly recently served as interim principal of Bolivar Elementary School in Chittenango in the spring of
2023, and prior to that he served as interim middle/high school principal for the Morrisville-Eaton
Central School District in the spring of 2022. Additionally, he has performed consulting services for both
the Hamilton Central School District and the New York State School Facilities Association.
Reilly’s decades of experience in the field of education have included several positions in the Clinton
Central School District, including serving as superintendent from 2011-2014 and principal of Clinton
Middle School from 2009-2011. He has also held roles that include superintendent of schools for the
Cazenovia Central School District, dean of students for the Hamilton Central School District, and a
secondary social studies teacher at Hamilton Central School District and Madison Central School District.
"I am excited for the opportunity to return to Clinton Middle School as the interim principal, and I look
forward to working with its outstanding students, faculty and community in the coming school year,”
said Reilly.
Reilly will serve in the position of interim middle school principal through June 30, 2025, or until a highly
qualified, permanent middle school principal is hired.
