Learning from History, Leading with Character

Learning from History, Leading with Character

Last week, a group of our 8th grade students had the opportunity to visit the Traveling Anne Frank Exhibit hosted by Westmoreland Central School District. The exhibit encouraged students to reflect on important themes including empathy, acceptance, human rights, and the responsibility we all share in standing up for others. The experience connected directly to students' learning while providing an opportunity to engage with history in a meaningful and personal way. Their tour guides were 6th grade students who had been trained by educators from the Anne Frank House.

We are grateful to Westmoreland for extending the invitation and proud of our students for the way they represented themselves and our school community. Thanks to Mrs. Abel, Mrs. Dwyer, Mrs. Gabree-Huba, and Mr. Clancy for all they did to make this possible for our students!
