Fifth Grade Moving Up Ceremony
On June 18, the Clinton Elementary School community gathered to celebrate the Fifth Grade Moving Up Ceremony, a milestone marking the end of one chapter and the exciting beginning of another.
The ceremony opened with smiles, applause and a beautiful stage adorned with a new Clinton Elementary School banner, generously gifted by the fifth grade class and proudly displayed as a symbol of school spirit and pride.
Among the many memorable moments was the class song, “Long Live” by Taylor Swift, chosen by the students to reflect their journey and the bonds formed along the way.
The fifth graders shared heartfelt reflections in "Elementary Memories," written by the students and presented tribute to their time at Clinton Elementary School. Their stories brought laughter, a few tears, and a deep sense of gratitude for their elementary years.
The ceremony also included a special slideshow presentation, “How Much They Have Grown,” lovingly created by our talented and “somewhat retired” educator, Mrs. Nancy Lillibridge. It was a touching reminder of the incredible growth these students have experienced since kindergarten.
We also took a moment to recognize and honor four beloved staff members retiring this year: Monica Crumrine, Elizabeth Hobaica, Hilary Lopata, and Shelly McNichol. Their impact on our school community is immeasurable, and we thank them for their years of dedication and service.
The celebration concluded with a surprise flash mob performance by the students as they showed off their dance moves and excitement.
It was a ceremony filled with pride, gratitude and the promise of new beginnings. Congratulations to the Clinton Elementary School fifth grade class! We can’t wait to see all you accomplish.
