On June 18, Clinton Elementary School held its annual Fifth Grade Moving Up Ceremony. Students in the class of 2031 were celebrated for their hard work this school year and throughout their elementary years.

During the ceremony, remarks were made by Elementary School Principal Mr. Edward Waskiewicz and Superintendent of Schools Mr. Christopher Clancy. The fifth grade class sang “A Million Dreams” from “The Greatest Showman” for their class song, and then individual awards were presented to students by special area teachers, staff members and the fifth grade teachers.

Following the awards, each of the fifth grade students received a certificate from the fifth grade teachers. Students also shared some of their favorite elementary school memories, presented their class gift, honored this year’s retirees and gave a speech in remembrance of a classmate.

To conclude the ceremony, a “How They Have Grown” slideshow was shown for attending family and friends to enjoy.

Congratulations to the fifth grade students and best of luck at the middle school!
