Clinton Senior High School Named School of Excellence
Clinton Senior High School has been named a 2023-2024 School of Excellence by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA).
The NYSPHSAA School of Distinction and School of Excellence awards are meant to unite athletic departments in challenging their teams to achieve a statewide academic honor. Schools can apply for School of Excellence status if 75% of their varsity teams have qualified for and received the Scholar-Athlete team award. Schools can apply for School of Distinction status if 100% of their varsity teams have qualified for and received the Scholar-Athlete team award.
This year, 114 schools earned the School of Distinction award and 226 schools earned the School of Excellence award. The number of schools earning these honors has increased since the 2022-2023 school year, when 84 schools earned the School of Distinction award and 219 schools earned the School of Excellence award.
“The efforts made by student-athletes in the classroom are paramount to their success in the athletic arena, and beyond their high school days,” said NYSPHSAA Executive Director Dr. Robert Zayas. “We are proud of those who put in the work as ‘student’ and ‘athlete,’ as well as the growth in both of School of Excellence and Distinction recognition.”
Congratulations to each of the hardworking student-athletes who made receiving such a prestigious honor possible!
