Mathcounts Team Advances to State Competition!

Mathcounts Team Advances to State Competition!

We are proud to celebrate our CMS MathCounts team, who earned 2nd place at the Regional MathCounts Competition, qualifying for State Competition! Throughout the meet, our students showcased the very skills MathCounts is designed to build—quick and accurate computation, strong mathematical reasoning, collaboration under pressure, and confident problem-solving.

MathCounts engages students in grades 6–8 in a series of challenging rounds that test both individual and team skills. From the fast-paced Sprint and Countdown rounds, which emphasize speed and accuracy, to the Target and Team rounds, which focus on reasoning, strategy, and collaboration, our students rose to the challenge and demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and a positive approach to complex math problems. Congratulations to Edwin Grant, Teddy Wileczka, James Shelley, and Vincent Gaffney on this outstanding achievement and for representing CMS so well! Thanks to Mrs. Gemelli for supporting students' preparation and to Ms. Latray for helping out on meet day!
