Clinton Girls' Hockey Wins State Championship

Clinton Girls’ Varsity Ice Hockey has made history at Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid. For the first time in the program's five-year tenure, the Lady Warriors have won the NYS Regional Championship. The score: 1-0.

The game-winning goal came with 6:37 left in the third period by Captain Mia Lopata on a power play. It was a straight-on shot from the point past Williamsville's Mia Wendell to give the Warriors the advantage. This was their first trip to the state title and they made it count. This win was number 8 in a row for the Warriors who haven't been beaten in 14-games.

The Clinton Fire Department is escorting the Warriors into the Clinton Arena upon arrival home to be welcomed in by their family, friends and fans. For the players who grew up watching Miracle on Ice, they now have a great, personal memory of Lake Placid.

Congratulations Warriors!
