International Dot Day Celebrated by Elementary School Students
" International Dot Day”, inspired by the book "The Dot," by Peter Reynolds, is a global celebration of creativity, courage, collaboration, and inspiration. It is celebrated on September 15th-ish, a date inspired by Reynold’s book "Ish!" There are currently 140 countries around the world participating!
Kindergarten students celebrated by making dot crowns in their classrooms, and were encouraged to "make their mark!" First graders engaged in "dot math" and created pictures using ten dots.
Students made dots to decorate the halls, explored what they could make using dots and the three primary colors, and wore clothing to help bring awareness to "International Dot Day".
