Dissemination & Review

A. Dissemination of Code of Conduct

The District Code of Conduct is available under the District tab, Board Policy page at www.ccs.edu. The Board and Administrators will work together to make the community aware of its location and availability. Copies are available in building offices and will be mailed to anyone upon request.

The Board will sponsor an in-service education program for all District staff members to learn about the effective implementation of the code of conduct, including but not limited to, guidelines on promoting a safe and supportive school climate while discouraging, among other things, harassment, bullying and discrimination against students by students and/or school employees; and including safe and supportive school climate concepts in the curriculum and classroom management. The Superintendent may solicit the recommendations of the District staff, particularly teachers and administrators, regarding in-service programs pertaining to the management and discipline of students.

B. Review of Code of Conduct

The Board will review this code of conduct every year and update it as necessary. In conducting the review, the Board will consider how effective the code's provisions have been and whether the code has been applied fairly and consistently.

The code of conduct and any amendments to it will be filed with the Commissioner of Education no later than 30 days after adoption.
