Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Rachel Grisham
Hello! My name is Rachel Grisham and I am a school social worker. I am incredibly excited to be a part of Clinton Central School District staff and family. I grew up in New Hartford, New York and attended New Hartford School District. I went on to college at SUNY Polytechnic Institute where I studied Community and Behavioral Health and then continued to pursue my passion in learning Social Work at SUNY Albany to obtain my Master’s degree. I graduated this past May with experience interning at Sauquoit Valley Elementary School as a social worker and working at an after-school daycare.
I have always wanted to work in a school, and I am thrilled to be a part of Clinton Central School District. I have family who have worked in school districts as athletic directors, gym teachers, and teachers aids who have really inspired me to work within a school district. My favorite part of being a social worker is to help protect and advocate for each and every student while helping to facilitate growth. My goal is to help with the transition for students from Elementary to Middle School and work with the two other amazing social workers and teams in both buildings to help each student reach their full potential.
I love being a school social worker as I am always doing my best to assess challenges from the student’s point of view. I truly believe in working with teachers, administrators, family members and other adults to help shape each student’s development in a positive way. I have found that it is important to appreciate the interconnectedness of school, home and community, in order to chart a plan of prevention and intervention to support students in all aspects of their lives. I look forward to meeting everyone. Please introduce yourself if you see me at the Elementary or Middle school!
