Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. John M. King
Welcome to 7th grade Science!
Science 7 is a continuation of the sixth grade inquiry and activity-based integrated science curriculum.
It is an integrated curriculum that combines earth science, life science, and physical science. This mixture allows students the opportunities to accomplish a variety of in-class and out-of-class assignments associated with this curriculum. Projects may include experiments, independent research, working in small groups (no more than two), and developing computer and technical skills needed for their advancement in the Clinton Middle School.
Students will also be responsible for creating their own project that can be entered into the annual Science Fair held each year at Clinton Central Schools. This project will continue to reinforce and utilize science inquiry learning to its optimum level. The students in 7th grade will continue to establish their enrichment of science and deepen their knowledge of The Scientific Method.
Students in 7th grade science will be able to apply, predict, identify, label, compare and contrast the following areas of science: The Microscope, Newton’ Laws of motion, Earthquakes, and Volcanoes, Thermal Energy, types of energy, parts of the cell, The Cell Theory, human body systems (Skeletal, Muscular, Endocrine, Circulatory, Nervous, and Excretory), and Rocks and Minerals.
Have a great year!!
