Helping Our Community's Students Succeed Through Scholarships

Clinton Dollars for Scholars® is a nonprofit foundation that supports academic success in our community. As part of the Scholarship America® national network of locally based, volunteer-driven Dollars for Scholars chapters, our mission is to mobilize our community on behalf of postsecondary education success for our students.

Dollars for Scholars chapters like ours help hometown students achieve their educational goals by raising scholarship funds, establishing endowments, providing assistance with college readiness and the financial aid process, and distributing scholarships each year.

Our chapter has been awarding scholarships, since its founding in 1984. The initial scholarships were small, $50, funded by the sale of roses and donations. Over time our membership has grown and our fundraising efforts have successfully progressed, so that the chapter can now award scholarships from $250 to $1500.

Our largest fundraising event in each of the past five years has been our annual Ferris Lawnmower raffle held in conjuction with Clinton Tractor's open house. However, several of our smaller events, such as Alteri's Winter Pizza extravaganza and the Shoppers' Stroll raffle, each support the funding of scholarships.

We are always looking for new fundraising ideas, resources to aid our students as they apply for college, and sources of volunteers. Please consider offering your time and talents to this worthy organization.

News Release

The Clinton Dollars for Scholars awarded $132,200 in Scholarships to graduating Clinton Seniors this month. The local chapter has awarded over a million dollars in scholarships since 1984. This is all made possible by the support of families and donors supporting the Chapter's efforts to help our students with the high cost of higher education.

The 67 students who received these scholarships this year are not only attending colleges, but some are pursuing careers through certifications and training programs.

You can help continue to support future Clinton graduates by donating at our website: clinton.dollarsforscholars.org. You can also establish a scholarship in memory of a loved one or to celebrate your entire CCS family.   For more information on how to establish a scholarship with the Clinton Dollars for Scholars Chapter, send an inquiry to Clinton DFS, 75 Chenango Ave, Clinton, NY 13323

The expression “it takes a village” applies nicely to our efforts to support our local graduates in furthering their education and it starts with you.
