This year, the Clinton Chapter of Dollars for Scholars awarded the one millionth dollar in scholarships to graduating seniors! This amazing milestone has been accomplished through many volunteers, the unending support of community and alumni.
The local chapter of DFS was established in 1984 and has been supporting Clinton Central School students with scholarships for the entire 37 years. Paul Stratton, our founding father, was instrumental in making this organization flourish. The Kilby Family helped us dramatically by providing a million dollars to support all graduating seniors with an 88 GPA average.
The local chapter has sponsored, with the assistance of the Calidonna Family, a Ferris tractor raffle for the past 15 years. That raffle has generated over a hundred thousand dollars for additional scholarships. Covid has put that fundraising event on hold for the past two years. However, community organizations and businesses stepped up so that we could provide our normal number and amount of scholarships to the class of 2021.
The local chapter also manages several donor directed scholarships, which brought our 2021 grand total amount for scholarships awarded to $143,000.
We would like to thank the greater Clinton/Kirkland Community for their generous support over our entire 37 years.
If you would be interested in supporting our continuing efforts or would like to establish a scholarship please contact us at DFS 75 Chenango Ave,Clinton, NY 13323. or visit our website at: clinton.dollarsforscholars.org
Congratulations to the Clinton High School Class of 2021!
