    3. READING OF THE MISSION STATEMENT

    Clinton Central School proudly educates and empowers students to realize their potential and become thoughtful, contributing members of society.

    4. PUBLIC TO BE HEARD

    The Board encourages public participation on school related matters at Board meetings.  To allow for this, a period of not more than 30 minutes shall be set aside at each Board meeting.  Speakers shall limit their comments to no more than 5 minutes.  The Board will not permit, in public session, discussion involving District personnel or students.  All speakers are to conduct themselves in a civil manner.  Questions and comments from the public concerning matters which are not on the agenda will be taken under consideration and referred to the Superintendent for appropriate action.  If the Board considers a topic extraordinary and requires a discussion taking longer than 30 minutes, the Board will consider designating a separate forum dedicated to that topic

    A. Policy

    1. BE IT RESOLVED that draft revised policy #8414.5 Alcohol and Drug Testing of Bus Drivers, be adopted. (See page 5)   Draft Policy #8414.5

    Note: This is the second reading and adoption. 

    B. Curriculum

        1. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Clinton Senior High School Course Selection Guide for the 2018-2019 school year be approved.  High School Course Selection Guide

    C. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the District Special Education Plan for the 2018-2019 school year be approved.  Special Education Plan

    D. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, in accordance with Board Policy #6150, the attached 2017-2018 line item budget transfer, be approved.  Budget Transfer Item

    A. BE IT RESOLVED, that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, and in accordance with Section III policy and procedure, that students from Notre Dame be granted permission to participate as combining athletes in the Clinton Central School boys’ lacrosse program.   Combining Agreement

    10. PERSONNEL      

    A. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the resignation with intent to retire of Patricia Hughes, Teacher Assistant, after 21 years of service at CCS, in accordance with Article 22 of the current CTA agreement, effective June 30, 2018, be accepted with regret.  (Exhibit #10)

    B. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the resignation with intent to retire of Elizabeth Waszkiewicz, Special Education Teacher, after 21.6 years of service at CCS, in accordance with Article 22 of the current CTA agreement, effective June 30, 2018, be accepted with regret.  (Exhibit #11)

    C. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the resignation with intent to retire of Laurie Dougherty, School Monitor, after 18.5 years of service at CCS, in accordance with Sections 16 and 18 of the current CSEA agreement, effective June 22, 2018, be accepted with regret.  (Exhibit #12)                                           

    D. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the appointment of Caitlyn Chandler to the position of long-term substitute in the elementary tenure area, to be compensated at Step 1BA in accordance with the current CTA agreement, effective on or about March 26, 2018 through June 22, 2018, be approved.  (Exhibit #13)

    E. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the following spring coaching appointments for the 2017-2018 school year, to be compensated in accordance with Article 14 of the CTA contract or other agreements/understandings between the District and CTA, be approved.  (Exhibit #14)

    F. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the following winter coaching appointment for the 2017-2018 school year, to be compensated in accordance with Article 14 of the CTA contract or other agreements/understandings between the District and CTA, be approved.  (Exhibit #15)

    G. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the administrative positions of Director of Pupil Personnel Services, and Director of Curriculum and Instruction be created, effective March 14, 2018.

    H. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the creation of the Director of Curriculum and Instruction administrative tenure area be approved, effective March 14, 2018. 

    I. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the appointment of Kathleen Fonda to the tenured administrative position of Director of Pupil Personnel Services, in the administrative tenure area, possessing a valid School District Administrator certification, to be compensated at her current salary, be approved, effective March 14, 2018.

    J. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the probationary appointment of Debora Van Slyke to the position of Director of Curriculum and Instruction, in the Director of Curriculum and Instruction tenure area, possessing valid School District Administrator and School District Administrator/Supervisor certifications, with a probationary period beginning April 14, 2018 through April 13, 2022, to be compensated at a salary of $98,000, in accordance with the current CAA agreement, be approved.  (Exhibit #16)

    K. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the administrative positions of Principal of Curriculum and Instruction, CSE Chairperson, and Director of Pupil Personnel Services and Instruction be abolished, effective March 14, 2018.
