    Clinton Central School proudly educates and empowers students to realize their potential and become thoughtful, contributing members of society.

    4. PUBLIC TO BE HEARD

    The Board encourages public participation on school related matters at Board meetings. To allow for this, a period of not more than 30 minutes shall be set aside at each Board meeting. Speakers shall limit their comments to no more than 5 minutes. The Board will not permit, in public session, discussion involving District personnel or students. All speakers are to conduct themselves in a civil manner. Questions and comments from the public concerning matters which are not on the agenda will be taken under consideration and referred to the Superintendent for appropriate action. If the Board considers a topic extraordinary and requires a discussion taking longer than 30 minutes, the Board will consider designating a separate forum dedicated to that topic.

    8. NEW BUSINESS

    A. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Smart Schools Investment Plan, having been made available for public viewing for at least a 30 day period, and having held public hearings on November 15, 2016 and December 20, 2016, be adopted.

    B. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the abolishment of the obsolete civil service title of Superintendent of Buildings, Grounds and Transportation, be approved.    Obsolete Position

    C. BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education accepts a donation of a Yamaha Digital Piano valued at $950 from Rick Zuccaro.     Piano Donation

    9. PUBLIC TO BE HEARD

    10. PERSONNEL


    A. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, that Lauren Karas be granted a tenure appointment in the elementary area, effective January 6, 2017.  (Exhibit #14)

    B. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, that Edward Waskiewicz be granted a tenure appointment in the secondary social studies area, effective January 13, 2017. (Exhibit #15)

    C. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the appointment of Karen Litz to the full time civil service position of level 3 aide, at step 4, in accordance with the current CSEA agreement, with a probationary period of 8 to 26 weeks, effective January 3, 2017, be approved. (Exhibit #16)

    D. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the appointment of Colleen Britcher to the full time civil service position of level 3 aide, in accordance with the current CSEA agreement, with a probationary period of 8 to 26 weeks, effective January 17, 2017, be approved. (Exhibit #17)

    E. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the following winter coaching appointment for the 2016-2017 school year, to be compensated in accordance with Article 14 of the CTA contract or other agreements/understandings between the District and CTA, be approved. (Exhibit #18)

    F. BE IT RESOLVED that the resignation of Ben Castle form the civil service position of Bus Driver/Cleaner be accepted effective December 16, 2016, with regret. (Exhibit #19)

    G. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the appointment of Corinne Vinette to the position of long-term substitute middle school guidance counselor, at Step1MA, in accordance with the current CTA agreement, effective January 6, 2017 through approximately March 1, 2017, be approved. (Exhibit #20)

    H. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the increase in the appointment of Mindy Pavone, art teacher, from 0.75 FTE to 0.78 FTE, in accordance with the current CTA agreement, be approved.
