    Clinton Central School proudly educates and empowers students to realize their potential and become thoughtful, contributing members of society.

    4. PUBLIC TO BE HEARD

    The Board encourages public participation on school related matters at Board meetings. To allow for this, a period of not more than 30 minutes shall be set aside at each Board meeting. Speakers shall limit their comments to no more than 5 minutes. The Board will not permit, in public session, discussion involving District personnel or students. All speakers are to conduct themselves in a civil manner. Questions and comments from the public concerning matters which are not on the agenda will be taken under consideration and referred to the Superintendent for appropriate action. If the Board considers a topic extraordinary and requires a discussion taking longer than 30 minutes, the Board will consider designating a separate forum dedicated to that topic.

    8. NEW BUSINESS

    A. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the contract between the Clinton Central School District and Building Blocks Learning Center, LLC, 2050 Tilden Avenue, New Hartford, New York 13413 to provide Occupational and Physical Therapy and Special Instruction Services from October 18, 2016 through June 30, 2017, at a rates indicated, be approved.     Building Blocks Agreement

    B. BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education approves the disposal of the attached list of obsolete property.     Items for Disposal

    C. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the participation with the attached list of school districts in the Girls Varsity Hockey Program, pending receipt of a fully executed Memorandum of Agreement and current certificate of insurance, be approved.      List of Participating Teams     

    D. BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education accepts a $16,000 donation from the Clinton Central School District Sports Boosters, $750 from Verizon, and $3,264 of remaining funds that were not utilized in 2015-2016 to fund the 2016-2017 Clinton Warriors girls ice hockey program:    Girls Ice Hockey Donation

    E.  BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education approve the Preliminary Smart Schools Investment Plan, to be made available for public viewing for at least a 30 day period, and with a public hearing held prior to final adoption.
          
    9. OTHER

    A. BE IT RESOLVED, that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, and in accordance with Section III policy and procedure, that students be granted permission to participate as independent athletes in the Morrisville-Eaton School District wrestling program.     Section III Wrestling Agreement

    B. BE IT RESOLVED, that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, and in accordance with Section III policy and procedure, the below-listed coaching assignments for the winter season of the 2016-2017 school year, be approved.

    E. BE IT RESOLVED, that the last day of personal voter registration for the vote of December 14, 2016 at Clinton Central School will take place in the Superintendent’s Office between the hours of 1:00pm and 4:00pm on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. Voters registered with the County Board of Elections are eligible to vote in the school district referendum. The Board of Registration consists of the qualified voters: Matthew Weber and Karen Winkler.

    B. BE IT RESOLVED the, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the appointment of James Scoones to the position of Temporary Head Custodian, to be compensated at a rate of $175 per week, beginning on or about November 8, 2016 through the return of the Head Custodian Brad Preston from medical leave, be approved.

    C. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the appointment of Jennifer Randell to the position of part time long term substitute LOTE teacher, to be compensated at a daily rate of $100, beginning October 24, 2016 for a period of six to eight weeks, in accordance with the current CTA agreement, be approved.     (Exhibit #19)

    NOTE: Ms. Randall is assuming the duties of Tanya Stillitano, itinerant part time Spanish teacher who is on medical leave.

    D. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the unpaid leave of absence for Melissa Drejza, aide, on November 21, 2016 and November 22, 2016, be approved.     (Exhibit #20)
     
    E. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the resignation with intent to retire of Lucinda Lopata, aide, after 24 years of service to the District, effective December 30, 2016, be accepted with regret.   (Exhibit #22)
