    Clinton Central School proudly educates and empowers students to realize their potential and become thoughtful, contributing members of society.

    4. PUBLIC TO BE HEARD

    The Board encourages public participation on school related matters at Board meetings. To allow for this, a period of not more than 30 minutes shall be set aside at each Board meeting. Speakers shall limit their comments to no more than 5 minutes. The Board will not permit, in public session, discussion involving District personnel or students. All speakers are to conduct themselves in a civil manner. Questions and comments from the public concerning matters which are not on the agenda will be taken under consideration and referred to the Superintendent for appropriate action. If the Board considers a topic extraordinary and requires a discussion taking longer than 30 minutes, the Board will consider designating a separate forum dedicated to that topic.

    8. NEW BUSINESS

    A. BE IT RESOLVED that the draft audit as distributed as a final document prepared by D’Arcangelo & Co., LLP for the 2015-2016 school year as required by section 170.2 subsection of the Commissioner’s Regulations be accepted and made part of this school district’s records.
                 
    B. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the contract between the Clinton Central School District and the Clinton Arena to use the facility for interscholastic boys’ hockey games and boys’ hockey practice beginning November 2016 through March 2017, to be compensated in the amount of $21,195.66, be approved.      Clinton Arena Agreement

    D. RESOLUTION REGARDING STATE ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY REVIEW RECONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

     

    WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the Clinton Central School District (the “Board”) has considered the effect upon the environment of the proposed work at:

     

    Elementary School, Reconstruction, SED Control #41-11-01-06-0-001-013

    Middle School, Reconstruction, SED Control #41-11-01-06-0-002-014

    High School, Reconstruction, SED Control #41-11-01-06-0-005-013

     

    WHEREAS, the Board has received and reviewed the Scope of the Proposed Project prepared and submitted in connection with the Project, and has further received and considered the advice of its Architects and Engineers with regard to the environmental impact of the Project; now therefore
     
    BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Education of the Clinton Central School District as follows:

     

    1.    The Board hereby determines in accordance with Article 8 (State Environmental Quality Review Act - SEQRA) of the Environmental Conservation Law that the Project is a Type II action which will not have a significant impact on the environment and is not subject to review under SEQRA.

     

    2.    The Project is hereby approved and the Superintendent of Schools and all officers and employees of the District are authorized and directed to perform all actions and execute all documents necessary or appropriate to obtain the necessary funding, complete the Project and to carry out the intent of this resolution.


    9. OTHER

    A. BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education adopt the District Strategic Goals for 2016-2017.     Goals

    11. PERSONNEL

    A. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the following musical accompanists for the 2016-2017 school year to be compensated in a total amount not to exceed the budgeted amount of $2000, be approved.

    B. BE IT RESOLVED that the resignation with intent to retire of Clark Heburn from the position of Bus Driver/School Bus Attendant, having served the District for 14 years, effective August 31, 2016, be accepted with regret.

    C. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the appointment of Susan Sanderson to the part time civil service position of school monitor, at Step 4, in accordance with the current CSEA agreement, with a probationary period of 8 to 26 weeks, effective September 7, 2016, be approved. (Exhibit #19)

    D. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the appointment of Lisa Hughes to the part time civil service position of school monitor, at Step 1, in accordance with the current CSEA agreement, with a probationary period of 8 to 26 weeks, effective September 7, 2016, be approved. (Exhibit #20)

    E. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the appointment of John Bird to the position of substitute music teacher, beginning on September 6, 2016 through approximately September 30, 2016, at a daily rate of $175, in accordance with the current CTA agreement, be approved. (Exhibit #21)

    NOTE: Mr. Bird is assuming the duties of Mr. Lavender who is on family care leave.

    F. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the following co-curricular appointment(s) for the 2016-2017 school year, to be compensated in accordance with Article 15 of the CTA contract, be approved.
