MISSION STATEMENT

The Clinton Central School District is committed to excellence in education by:

  • Offering curricula and programs for all students to achieve excellence at their levels of capacity.
  • Providing activities that support the intellectual, physical, social, and cultural development of all students.
  • Using, supporting, and enhancing the professional expertise of the staff.
  • Encouraging parental partnership in education.
  • Developing programs to improve the relationship between the school system and the communities it serves.

THE CLINTON SCHOOLS

The school district is comprised of three schools - an elementary, middle, and high school - all located on one campus in the center of town and enrolling approximately 1,455 students.  With its commitment to keeping facilities up-to-date, the district recently completed a $22 million project that included new high school science rooms, a state-of-the-art theater, new physical education facilities, updated classrooms, and new common rooms.

The district has approximately 200 faculty, staff, and support personnel. The teaching staff is experienced and highly qualified at all levels. Instructional leadership is provided by the principals along with curriculum councils in each building. Overall coordination is provided by a shared decision-making District Planning Team. Continuing professional education is supported by a Professional Development Center, where faculty members share their expertise and serve as instructors for in-service programs.

The district has a reputation for achievement and excellence and a commitment to encouraging the development and integration of critical thinking and analytical skills at all levels.  A strong child-centered focus at the elementary level establishes a sound educational foundation, and small class sizes allow an individualized approach to learning.

The middle and high schools offer accelerated programs for students in grades 7-12 in math, science, language arts, music, social studies, and English, and many Advanced Placement courses.

Full programs in athletics, music, and other co-curricular areas add breadth to the strong academic program for Clinton students. Students consistently win awards in mathematics and local and national recognition in French. Musicians gain All-State status and All-Eastern honors. The annual high school musical is a major community event. Each year, the art program produces students who win statewide recognition.
