ASVAB Career Exploration Program

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multi-aptitude test to identify students’ skills and competencies in the areas of general science, arithmetic reasoning, word knowledge, paragraph comprehension, mathematics knowledge, electronics information, auto and shop information, and mechanical comprehension. Students take a self-administered interest inventory that will help identify potential careers. A section referred to as the Guide, enables students to use their interests and scores to explore over 400 civilian and military occupations.  Scores from the ASVAB are released to our high school.  Parents and students can choose whether they want these scores released to the military.  If a student is interested in a career in the military, he/she may want to discuss this assessment with a counselor.
