Thursday, June 5, 2008:  Professional Support Group for Speech Therapists.  Colleen Wuest.  Sponsored by:  Oneida BOCES SETRC and Area Teacher Centers.  Colleen Wuest will present and discuss the DVD “Treating Oral Motor Problems”, by Merry Meek, MS, CCC.  This DVD will detail the preparation techniques and treatment approaches to achieve facial tolerance for stimulation and improve functional chewing and swallowing.  This will help make positive changes in oral-motor function for the therapists who are treating children and using oral-motor therapy.  4:00 to 6:00.  M-O BOCES TriPlexus Conference Room 105.  Please register with Caroline Elliott at caelliott@moboces.org.

Friday, June 6, 2008:  Helping Children when Parents Separate – The Professional Role. (For Social Worker and Counselors Dr. JoAnne Pedro-Carroll.  Sponsored by:  American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Foundation and the Family Law and Social Policy Center of Syracuse University College of Law.  This multidisciplinary conference will bring together school teachers, guidance counselors, matrimonial lawyers, family therapists, social workers, day care staff, mediators, judges and nurses throughout Central New York to discuss common strategies and intervention methods for assisting children in overcoming the effects of their parents’ separation .  8:30am to 4:00pm  Grant Auditorium Syracuse University College of Law.  Fee: $30.00 (parking, breakfast & lunch included)Registration information is available at http://www.law.syr.edu/family
